Chris began stand up comedy after driving his son Clayton around from gig to gig.  Clayton seemed to have so much fun on stage that he figured he could give it a shot.  He figured, how hard could it be?  He had seen all of Clayton's report cards.  Soon after telling his first joke he was hooked.  To hear an audience laugh at his material was the ultimate in instant gratification.  Soon Clayton and Chris began seeking every opportunity they could find to get on a stage with a microphone.  They are constantly working on new material and weaseling their way onto the stage wherever they can find one.  The chase has been fruitful as they have earned emcee opportunities at their home club, Penguins in Cedar Rapids, and have worked charity and amateur all star events around the state.  One of their more exciting events is this summers upcoming “Comedy For Kids” tour where they will take our act to Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Davenport, Washington and Des Moines raising money for Children’s Miracle Network.

                Chris has emceed for Pat Godwin, James Ervin Berry, Ben Ulan, Johnny Kavanaugh, Sean Morey, Chris Smith and The Midnight Swinger.   He auditioned in Minneapolis for NBC’s Last Comic Standing and was part of a fundraising benefit for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of East Central Iowa.  Chris claims that hanging out in the green room of Penguins Comedy Club with John Reep, The Hemi Guy, is one of his favorite comedy highlights.  That isn’t much for a resume but Chris thought the whole thing was pretty darn cool.
